| BRIDGE – Bioresources, bioremediation, biorefinery group at Centre of Biological Engineering, University of Minho, is one of the main players of the Portuguese R&D on Environmental Biotechnology. BRIDGE research is supported by 1) Waste is a valuable resource; 2) Bioremediation is essential for a clean environment; and 3) Biorefinery will sustain our future, and is in line with the policy priorities of the Europe Horizon strategy, specifically in the missions “Starfish 2030: Restore our Ocean and Waters” and “Caring for soil is caring for life”, as well as European Green Deal. BRIDGE aims at promoting the efficient use of resources which makes business sense, and contributes to the EU's agenda for global competitiveness, by decoupling future economic progress from resource constraints. The mission of BRIDGE is to underpin the transition from a linear to a circular economy by generating, applying and disseminating knowledge and transfer technology in the field of Environmental Biotechnology. |
